Week 21

Off to Forbes ( middle of NSW ) to visit Dom's mum this time.
We passed this wind farm on the way - west of Goulburn, somewhere?

Storm brewing over Parkes on its way to Forbes.

"The Dish" at Parkes really good TV reception here ( and it's big )

Dom's mum had him and Dave ( step dad ) working, It is a first attempt at paving for both of them, well see how they go.............

Now we know where they come from..............( click on the picture to enlarge )

It's a big plane ( DC3 I think? ) - in a park at West Wyalong about 100+ k's from Forbes, we had to go as it was the only Mitsubishi service centre in the area - and the car was due.

Coming along nicely.

Cut and done, dam square pavers in a round hole......
lots of work but the end result is pretty good.

Another storm coming.
We ended up with over 30ml in half an hour - not bad.

And done, just a little dirt around the outside for the grass to grow over the edge - give it a month or two and it will look tops.

Week 20

From Newcastle to Kangaroo Valley - South/West of Sydney ( Dom's dad lives here )

This is Kiama beach - East of Kangaroo Valley, very nice - on waves though? It was a little strange.

This is Cambewarra lookout on the way to Kiama from Kangaroo Valley, lots of nice scenery around this area.

This is the view from Dom's dads front yard, overlooking he's olive grove, very hard to take....

They have this old bridge as you enter kangaroo Valley, the river in this area is very popular too.

Week 19

Off to Newcastle we go, as you can see below, travelling towards a major city over the school holidays isn't a good a good idea, well it wasn't that bad really, we only stopped a couple of times but spent most of the time in 1st gear at 5-10kph, but hey we aren't in a hurry.

Above is Gunny and Suz - Dom's old school friends, it was great to catch up ( and we will be back )
They didn't want to be on the blog - so bugger 'em....

We went into Sydney a couple of times - why I don't really know, but it had to be done.
Sydney = Tolls, the bastards have 3 tolls linked together in the space of 10k when you get into the city, and nothing you can do about it...Bastards.

While in Sydney we went to the Australian Museum, it wasn't dear and pretty cool, we also went to the art gallery to see "Picasso" well not Picasso - cause he's dead but his art work, it was good and the whole gallery was cool.

While in Newcastle we stayed at Jas and Mel's ( Dom's brother ) pictured above at Stockton Beach.

Ahhh..Stockton Beach, if you have a 4x4 of any description this is a must - sand as far as the eye can see, very dry and very soft and very - very much fun.

I have never seen so many sand dunes that you can explore, it just kept on going - about 40k I think.

40k of sand is a lot of sand........................

Did I say Awesome.......

This is "Tin City" as seen in "Mad Max", true.
People still live here.

Week 18

Another couple of hours down the road and we arrive at North Haven, its about 20 minutes south of Port Macquarie and about 2 minutes from Laurieton

There was a big low pressure system off the coast and the surf was awesome (to look at) we weren't going in it though....

Very rough - but awesome.

Hi Shell, we saw this and thought it was cool, and its big.

This is the view from the lookout at North Haven, it was very high up and a nice drive.

This is a very old lighthouse at Crowdy Head - probably about half hour south from North Haven.

Dom caught this freaky looking yellow catfish-eel thingy? just off the rocks at North Haven, check out the water, it was so clear you could see the fish - bit harder to catch the buggers though..

Hey again Shell, we found this big axe near Wauchope - west of Port Macquarie
